An extensive report published by El Mercurio Antofagasta on June 1, which reveals the important developments of Universidad de Antofagasta, one of the six associated universities to SERC Chile on this matter, states that “the city is undergoing an important change in the development of solar energy”

This press statement highlights Tania Varas’s project, a civil engineer whose undergraduate thesis has focused on a project to create photovoltaic plants in residential areas to allow the use of solar light to be part of their energy system.

Due to the feasibility of her project, she was invited to work at Universidad de Antofagasta to lead the project to install a photovoltaic plant in the roof of the rectory’s building, which will collect solar light that will afterwards be distributed to the entire administrative level.

If you want to find out how this project works, which are its projections and all of the benefits it could bring to this city of the north of our country, we invite you to read the press release clicking here.
