Lorena Cornejo is a laboratory chemist at the University of Chile and has a master’s in chemistry with honorable mention in analytical chemistry from the University of Estadual de Campinas in Brazil. She also completed a post-doctoral degree in the same Brazilian university. She currently works as a professor at the University of Tarapacá. Her research is dedicated to the evaluation and distribution of the chemical elements water and earth.

She also investigates the development of technologies for decontaminating and disinfecting water.
