Professor Contreras belongs to the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, Department of Analytical and Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Concepción, Chile, since 2006. He received a Degree in Chemistry at the University of Concepción (2000) and their PhD in Chemistry at the University of Concepcion, Chile, in 2005, under the advisory of Prof. Jaime Rodriguez.
Professor Contreras has published 38 articles on indexed Journals in the fields of Bioinorganic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, Biofuels on advanced oxidation processes (AOPs).
He focus their research mainly in fundamentals and applications of Fenton reaction driven by iron ligands an solar radiation using chemometrics tools for optimization of reactions and create reactivity structure models.
Also has participated directly in more than 90 national and international meetings.
